Our client, a renowned arts organisation, requires an Events Manager to start ASAP. This is a temporary position and is expected to last until late December 2019. This role is paying £15-£17 p/h plus holiday pay.

The main duties of the Events Manager are:

  • Managing and coordinating a busy calendar of internal events autonomously from conception to completion
  • Managing the invitation process for internal events including co-ordinating guest lists
  • Assisting with the organisation and delivery of event programme
  • Managing the internal diary; securing internal event dates for the coming year
  • Organising regular 'diary catch up' meetings with the Director's and Deputy Directors diary managers
  • Overseeing a number of events hosted by the Gallery
  • Assisting the Head of Events in the run up to large scale fundraising occasions
  • Creating event briefing documents and speech notes for internal use
  • Monitoring events specific budgets as set out by the Head of Events
  • Representing the Events Team at relevant internal events
  • Ensure everyone is fully briefed and that all events run according to the weekly schedules produced by the Events team
  • Maintaining accurate events records and ensuring that the CRM database are kept up to date

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent with proven previous event management experience ideally gained within a heritage or arts organisation. You need to have excellent communication skills, along with the ability to manage a series of events simultaneously to a very high standard. You need to be a self-starter with the ability to think on one's feet, be adaptable and reactive and recognise when changes need to be made in a moment's notice. Strong analytical forward planning skills and the ability to think ahead and plan for the long term as well as deliver on a day to day basis. Discretion, confidence and professionalism in dealing with VIP contacts, Gallery supporters, stakeholders and suppliers, as well as applying a solution orientated approach to problems.
