A prestigious US Law Firm based in the heart of the city is looking for a new AML/Compliance Manager to join the London office on a permanent basis managing the compliance for the offices in Europe and Asia.  Responsibilities will include performing client due diligence on new clients, particularly those which are high risk or otherwise complicated, supervising completion of client due diligence checks by the AML Team, performing PEP and sanctions searches as necessary on natural persons, collecting personal identification and storing securely, supervising performance of these tasks by the AML Team, supporting the maintenance and development of the firm’s AML policies and procedures, and provide guidance on an ongoing basis, answering questions from partners, fee earners and staff at all levels relating to the interpretation of relevant legislation, regulation and firm policies pertaining to AML, attending AML conferences and seminars; report back to the AML Team and the Assistant GCs, advising Assistant GCs and MLRO on areas where AML controls should be improved, maintaining and updating the firm’s AML risk assessment annually. Other duties include maintain insider lists for the firm in line with relevant legislation and regulations, assisting in the development, implementation and revision of written policies and procedures as necessary, to be proactive in the identification of risk, providing solutions to mitigate risks, conduct thorough reviews of and track engagement letters, work in conjunction with the COLP, COFA, Assistant GCs and Finance team to ensure the firm is compliant with all SRA regulations.  Candidates must be degree educated, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working within a AML/Compliance team within a law firm, previous experience managing a team and strong research, communication and organizational skills.
