Our forward thinking international law firm client is currently looking for a IT Programme manager to join their excellent Information Technology department. The main responsibilities of this role are acting as a role model in promoting the appraisal process; take strategic approach to objective setting, linking it to the longer term direction/vision of the firm, contributing to the professional development of direct reports through setting of professional development goals and mentoring, providing feedback and performance appraisals to direct reports in accordance with the firm's performance management process, listen and act on feedback.  Encourage and demonstrate commitment to knowledge/expertise sharing to provide opportunities for self and direct reports to develop new skills and improve performance, acting as a mentor and provide assistance to other IT employees as requested, participating in outside professional activities to maintain knowledge on developments in the field. Establish relationships with other project managers in legal and other industries, to keep abreast of activities at these institutions, implementing process change effectively and assure direct reports understand the importance of any changes, handling challenging discussions with clarity and appropriate tone, balance supply and demand across in progress and upcoming projects in their portfolio, recruiting for additional project managers and other resources where needed, overseeing assigned projects, assuring assigned projects meet scope, are on time, and are within budget, provide executive program updates through effective presentations and high quality program status and business reporting, assuring project managers produce project status reporting at the appropriate level and that they communicate effectively by delivering high quality executive presentations, effectively representing IT to stakeholders, external service providers and vendors, exercising good commercial judgment; ensure all contractual engagements with suppliers/service providers comply with internal authorization limits and the firms terms of business, collaborating and effectively communicate with direct reports and Planning and Programs leadership to assure alignment across the portfolio of projects under Planning and Programs management. Candidate must have extensive IT Programme management experience within a professional services environment, experience working within a l firm environment would be extremely beneficial.  Experience of managing staff and in both Waterfall and Agile project lifecycles is essential.
