Incredible opportunity for a Finance Manager to join a quick growing tech start up. We are looking for a talented qualified accountant with experience of preparing or auditing UK accounts who can bring analytical thinking and passion to our client’s ambitious mission and growth. Tackling the big problems in global healthcare, our client’s work is impactful across different countries and cultures. 

This is a critical role within the team where you will be responsible for global consolidation and UK accounts.  

Reporting to the Global CFO, responsibilities include: 

  • Checking that the UK accounts are accurate, posting month-end journals and managing staff expenses (using an external firm of accountants for day-to-day UK book-keeping, payroll and tax returns
  • Reviewing the management accounts for subsidiaries, liaising with staff in different countries to ensure consistent and accurate reporting across the group
  • Preparing monthly consolidated management accounts 
  • Creating and presenting analysis of expenditure and profitability, both for operations and overheads and across the group’s operations
  • Looking for ways to improve internal processes - both by using technology to make the system more efficient and by strengthening internal controls
  • Main point of contact for audit work in the UK and will support non-UK teams with their audits
  • Work closely with the wider Operations team who manage the deployment in South Asia and Africa 
  • You will be encouraged to develop your own technical capabilities (for example, in international tax)

 What we are looking for: 

  • ACCA or CIMA qualification
  • Minimum three years of experience of preparing or auditing UK accounts
  • Understanding of the UK tax system and the practical application of PAYE and VAT
  • Competent working with Excel, creating graphs and other analyses to demonstrate key trends or characteristics of our business
  • A collaborative approach to working with colleagues
  • Desired: Experience of accounting outside the UK
