Mortgage Administrator

My clients are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Mortgage Administrator to join their team. The Mortgage Administrator will play a crucial role in supporting our mortgage operations by managing and overseeing various administrative tasks throughout the mortgage application process. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mortgage procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Application Processing: Collect, review, and process mortgage applications ensuring accuracy and completeness

Documentation Management: Maintain organized and up-to-date mortgage files, including all necessary documentation from applicants and third parties

Communication: Serve as a point of contact for applicants, loan officers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on the status of mortgage applications and address inquiries

Coordination: Collaborate with loan officers, underwriters, and other team members to facilitate a smooth and efficient mortgage approval process

Compliance: Ensure all mortgage applications adhere to regulatory guidelines and internal policies, addressing any discrepancies promptly

Verification: Conduct thorough verification of applicant information, including employment, credit history, and financial statements

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and complete records of mortgage transactions and activities

Reporting: Generate regular reports on the status of mortgage applications, highlighting key metrics and potential issues

Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and guiding applicants through the mortgage process

Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the development of more efficient procedures within the mortgage administration department.

Experience and attributes required

  • Proven experience in mortgage administration, loan processing, or a similar role within the financial industry
  • Familiarity with mortgage regulations, loan products, and industry best practices
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues
  • Organisational Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage multiple applications simultaneously
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy in processing paperwork and verifying information
  • Proficient in using mortgage processing software, Microsoft Office, and other relevant tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to a positive and productive workplace culture.
