This is a key role within the Scholar Affairs Team at Rhodes House. The Registrar & Director of Scholars Affairs is responsible for the academic administration of the Rhodes Scholarship, working closely with over 250 Rhodes Scholars pursuing graduate study at the University and c100 Scholars-elect applying for graduate study at Rhodes House. The Scholar Services Administrator will take pride in ensuring that the work of the Registrar and the administrative processes for which they are responsible run smoothly.

About the role

The Scholar Services Administrator role is permanent and full-time. The successful candidate must be a team player, flexible and willing on occasion to work outside regular hours. We would ideally like the successful candidate to start early September.

The role will be responsible for;

  • A range of routine but critically important tasks, including shared responsibility for record-keeping for Scholars in Residence and archiving records for Scholars going down in accordance with established GDPR process
  • Tracking termly supervision reports, flagging concerns for the Registrar s attention
  • Ensuring that Scholars in residence meet with the Warden individually each academic year, together with associated follow up administration
  • Administration of ad hoc events and opportunities, e.g. scheduling and facilitating mentoring meetings, circulating invitations and managing responses?

The ideal candidate for this role should have experience of, and enjoy working in, a busy and fast-paced environment. You should be a team player and flexible. You must have the ability to work on a multiplicity of tasks independently and, at the same time, to organise and prioritise own work - or to ask for help in doing so - including coping with unpredictable volumes of work and busy periods.
