Our client is a prestigious London law firm – they are now looking to recruit an experienced HR Business Partner provide full generalist HR support to dedicated fee earner industry groups.

The standard hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm. The salary on offer is up to £80,000 (dependent upon experience) + Benefits. This role is a permanent position, and the client are currently using a hybrid working approach.

Your responsibilities as a HR Business Partner:

  • Work with partners in each of the assigned industry groups to map all fee earners to our global talent grid
  • Suggest interventions to motivate, engage and retain key talent
  • Create succession plans for all key roles, future proofing the firm
  • Lead the promotion process for Associates and Senior Associates
  • Responsible for all fee earner recruitment for the assigned industry groups
  • Using direct recruitment methods, e.g., social media, to reduce reliance on recruitment agencies
  • Identifying suitable recruitment agencies and online resources
  • Managing the new starter and leaver processes
  • Global mobility: Managing secondments to clients and international offices
  • Working with partners and associates on proactive initiatives that positively impact engagement across the firm
  • Helping internal clients manage the performance appraisal process
  • Dealing with a range of employment issues, including performance management, disciplinary and grievance hearings, dismissals and change management
  • Managing the annual salary / bonus reviews
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of applicable employment law and practice
  • Dealing with general HR issues that may arise

Requirements as a HR Business Partner:

  • Minimum of five years’ HR generalist experience within a professional services organisation supporting fee earner groups
  • HR degree or equivalent; ideally, part or fully CIPD qualified
  • Sound technical knowledge of employment law and its practical application
  • Having a positive, collaborative and consultative outlook
  • A clear understanding of how HR activity can support profitability of the firm
