HR AdvisorThe Opportunity:Reporting to the HRD of this 350 strong engineering company, the post holder will be responsible for all aspects of a busy, hands on Human Resources function. You will be a relied upon source of expert advice to all levels of staff within the organisation and will have to day to day contact with the senior management team. There is an HR Administrator within the department also, and as a team of 3 you will have a busy and enjoyable role. There is lots of personnel administration, varied and interesting recruitment, following well established and workable HR policies and procedures, supporting all levels of staff across production and business operations, and the role will certainly need somebody who enjoys being busy, hands on, collaborative, and who can offer a 'can do' attitude.Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with managing the recruitment process of temporary and permanent staff, encompassing the whole process from job design, recruitment, selection, job offer and induction. Including effective selection of suitable applicants using interviews, psychometric tests, references and other methods.
- Absence management and responsibility for liaison with occupational health, including involvement with long term and short term absence case management. Including the production of Line Management information.
- Assist with the administration of the appraisal and review processes, including the collection of training requirements for the business, identification of training solutions and providers and cost negotiations where appropriate.
- Acting as a point of contact for line managers and employees to provide advice on employment law, expertise and support on employee relations issues. Coach and assist Line Managers in dealing with difficult issues, trying to resolve problems before they escalate.
- Manage the implementation of the discipline and dismissal procedures. Coach line managers to resolve performance shortfalls, or disputes including taking an active role within any resulting Disciplinary process and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Ensure an up to date knowledge of market conditions and legislation changes is maintained.
- Be responsible for the administration of maintenance of central personnel records, HR database and sensitive data and ensure all administration processes are followed, as required.
- Undertaking HR Projects that add value to the organisation, as requested by the HR Manager.
- Associate Member of the CIPD with 3 years HR experience
- A sound knowledge of HR practice and procedure together with an up-to-date knowledge of employment law.
- Experience of working in a multi-site fast growing business. Would be advantageous to have experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to work on several projects at one time.
- Evidence of independently managing employee relationship issues, whilst also having the ability to work closely with and influence senior management.
- Excellent communication and motivation skills, strong organisational and analytical skills.

- Independent thinker, but supportive to team ethos.
- Good IT skills in Excel, Word, Access and ideally an HR and / or Recruitment system
