This newly created opportunity within Activate Learning is an exciting opportunity for an talented HR professional to join our team. As Head of HR Operations, you will be responsible for leading the Payroll and HR Services teams, ensuring the day to day and project activity runs smoothly and efficiently. You will mobilise change and support the transformation of how we deliver core HR Services to our staff, including pay and reward, key systems, projects and processes.

You will pioneer our sustainability and technology strategic drivers to positively impact the staff and employer journey by working in partnership with leaders and managers to develop an effective HR Operational Service. Your focus on developing robust people systems, processes and progressive HR activities will achieve a truly integrated and efficient service delivery function that supports all areas of the business.

This is a full time, permanent post that can be based at either Reading college or Oxford City college, along with hybrid working.

What do you need to be successful in this role?

Accountable for the overall performance of the Payroll and HR Services teams, you will need experience managing and delivering key projects with tangible business outcomes. In particular demonstrating an ability to effectively balance business process operating within a culture heavily focused on humanity.

Proven understanding of HR Service management and experience working with HR/payroll interfaces is essential.

You will be experienced in fostering a culture of coaching and be able to demonstrate effective team management that promotes an inclusive high-performance culture.

You will have demonstrable experience of driving change through consultation and collaboration in a manner consistent with our values.
