HR Advisor
Location: Reading, UK (Hybrid working - there will be a requirement for the appointed candidate to work from the office one day a week or two days a fortnight; during probation you would be expected to work from the office 2-3 days per week)
About the Office of Independent Adjudicator (OIA)
Our vision is that students are always treated fairly. We work towards this by resolving complaints from students, sharing learning from complaints to help improve policies and practices, and working with other organisations in the higher education sector and beyond.
The OIA are working in partnership with BAME Recruitment to recruit for their new skilled HR Advisor who wants to be part of our friendly and committed HR team.
About the role
The HR Advisor partners and advises line managers and employees in various people matters. They will provide proactive and efficient HR generalist support as part of a small HR team to ensure that the OIA's people function is operating in a timely and professional way.
In addition to the generalist HR responsibilities, the post holder will support on the three focus areas:
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: This includes proactively supporting the OIA's internal EDI workstreams, supporting strategy implementation and being an EDI champion to further develop our inclusive, value driven culture.
- Learning and Development: This includes having particular responsibility for learning and development initiatives and programmes to help shape the OIA's learning culture. This work will be done across teams to ensure our people have the skills and support to be their best at work.
- Wellbeing: This includes coaching employees and line managers on wellbeing matters in the workplace, implementing further wellbeing aspects into our work, and being a champion for promoting and engaging staff on related initiatives so that our people can fulfil their full potential.

We would love to hear from you if you have one or more of the following:
- Proven skills and/or work experience as a wellbeing, L&D, EDI, or generalist HR practitioner in the professional sector.
- Confidence in providing diplomatic advice and guidance on routine HR matters and the ability to deal effectively with staff at a range of levels.
- Good EDI knowledge and a passion for inclusion.

- 35-hour working week; part-time working considered upon request.
