We have teamed up with one of London's most exciting tech companies who are pioneers of artificial intelligence, are trusted by leading organisations globally, and are making waves in the industry. They are looking for a People Operations Assistant who will report into the People Operations Manager to support all teams across this growing organisation. You will be pivotal in providing day to day administrative support, as well as promoting the company culture and values.
Passionate about the wider team, their collective development and the culture that pervades throughout the organisation, the People Operations Assistant needs to be a ‘people-person’ as you will have an important part to play in sharing and promoting company values. You are also likely to be involved in implementing internal well-being and equal opportunity initiatives, as the company is committed to building a diverse team where everyone feels at home and can contribute as a peer within the business.
This role would suit a proactive and enthusiastic individual looking to expand their knowledge within a tech scale-up environment. Experience within Human Resources and People Operations working within a technology start-up is desired, however candidates with relevant experience that can demonstrate fresh thinking will also be considered.
Usual working hours are Monday to Friday 9am-6pm, with the option to work from remotely home for 2 days per week.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Assist in tasks related to the People Operations function which could include all aspects of the employee lifecycle
- Maintain employee records and contracts
- Process on-boarding and off-boarding of new starters/leavers in the UK and US
- Manage the induction process for new starters
- Assist with the implementation of behavioural and culture initiatives and a staff wellbeing programme alongside the People Operations Manager
- Assist with the employee career development programme
- Oversee time and attendance records
- Responsible for right to work and background checks
- Assist the Recruitment Team where required
- Support the People Operations Manager with planning and running staff engagement events monthly
- Work closely with the People Operations Manager on H&S policies and procedures

- Act with the employee experience at top of mind - continuously seeking feedback, inefficiencies, and maintaining business relationships based on trust and respect
- Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation
- Help to build and promote the company employer brand
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- 1+ years’ experience in a similar role (preferably in start-up environment)
- Must hold a degree qualification or equivalent
- CIPD accredited or working towards qualification at Level 3 or equivalent is desirable, although not essential
- Always curious and looking for ways to improve and automate processes
- Strong planning and prioritisation capabilities and ability to work to deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Current and up-to-date knowledge of general HR processes and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels
- Proactive and flexible approach to working autonomously
- Understanding of current employment and immigration law including Brexit, Visa Sponsorship and Right to Work
- Ability to be discreet with awareness of the need to maintain confidentiality, solid ethics and sound judgement at all times
- Strong IT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Comfortable working in an active and busy environment
- Strong can-do mentality
- Excellent checkable references
