PA for a Medico-legal Psychiatrist Practice (Remote Working)

This is a full-time, permanent post for an experienced PA and secretary, who can work independently and creatively to support a solo psychiatrist in a lively medio-legal practice. The post offers an opportunity to contribute to interesting and meaningful work which is socially relevant. You will be the main point of contact for the practice, dealing with enquiries from solicitors, barristers, social workers, and clients.

The work of the practice is to produce reports for Family and Civil Courts.   The reports are highly confidential. The material is varied and interesting, but can be distressing, as it may include information about abuse.

You will be working remotely from home and communicating throughout the day with the psychiatrist. You should live within reasonable proximity to the psychiatrist’s home office in Hampstead NW, so that you can visit the office probably twice per month, for in person contact and to manage filing. 

Specifically, you will be responsible for responding to enquiries about availability for work, composing draft letters for response, receiving and checking electronic bundles of court papers, scheduling appointments, typing dictation which will form the final report, and proofreading work before sending it out.

• Proficient use of digital-based transcription service
• Typing at a minimum rate of 65wpm.
• Up-to-date knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel, and Google Drive

You will be provided with a laptop and transcription equipment, as well as any other equipment you might need. You will need to have an adequate internet connection. IT support will be available for you.
