Executive Assistant

Canary Wharf, London/Hybrid working

£33,119 - £37,209 pa

Full time / Part time / Flexible

If you offer strong administrative and organisational skills, this position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role providing executive-level support to the Executive Director of Markets and Mergers at the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).

As Executive Assistant, you will be the key link between the Executive Director (ED) of Markets and Mergers and the rest of the organisation and external stakeholders and will assist with the management and prioritisation of their time.

Your key responsibilities as Executive Assistant will include:

  • Leading on the management of the ED’s diary and inbox
  • Preparing a daily pack, including schedule of meetings with brief details and supporting paperwork
  • Identifying upcoming risks and challenges and providing sound advice to the ED of Markets and Mergers on how best to manage them
  • Working collaboratively with other Personal Assistants across the Markets and Mergers directorate
  • Completing document production in a timely manner

As time permits, and in response to business requirements, the Executive Assistant will have the opportunity to take on additional delivery responsibilities in relation to projects within the Directorate, such as assisting with the facilitation of recruitment, Markets and Mergers staff events and other projects that the ED of Markets and Mergers is leading.

As Executive Assistant, you will need experience of successfully prioritising multiple work tasks to meet strict deadlines, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as without close supervision. Proficiency with document production and management is equally important, as is attention to detail, and excellent ICT capability and skills, particularly with Microsoft Office programmes.

In return the CMA is a hugely diverse, rewarding and stimulating place to work – an opportunity to work for the public good and to stretch and develop yourself in doing so. We offer generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, at least 25 days leave (increasing to 30 over five years), and generous maternity/paternity leave provision. You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme, our employee assistance programme and favourable consideration of flexible working.
