We are looking for an Operations Assistant to join a small family-owned Manufacturing and Interior Design Company in Southwest London. 

Working alongside the Operations Director to manage and oversee all shipping, installations, and general running of the business. You will be coordinating the delivering and installation of furniture, as part of a team led by the Operations Director. The role also encompasses working closely with representatives in China to arrange all containers, airfreight, shipping schedules and deliveries.

We are looking for someone who has a great attitude, strong communication skills and has an eye for detail to join a lovely team and company!   

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assisting to plan, run and oversee all major installation projects alongside the Operations Director
  • Liaise with the China office to gain the best quotes on all shipments and containers and help organise the loading of containers
  • Monitor Vessels activities/operations/requirements through keeping high levels of communication with all personnel you are working with
  • Liaise with local logistics agents to arrange clearance and delivery of containers to relevant sites
  • Oversee contract terms for all major logistic contracts
  • Dealing with account management for key clients, assisting with enquiries and resolving complaints
  • Carry out reviews on suppliers, ensuring the company is getting the best price
  • Assisting with fleet movement and management and operations diary management, ensuring efficient operational running of the department

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience within logistics or shipping is essential
  • Knowledge of Xero or other inventory packages is desirable but not necessary
  • Strong organisational skills in a dynamic fast-paced environment

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • An effective communicator with strong analytical, planning and co-ordination skills
