Role – PA for Entrepreneurial Surgeon

Fed up with commuting and looking for a very interesting local role?  We are looking for a talented, organised and experienced professional to take the role as PA to a busy surgeon who works from Kent and London.  Based in wonderful offices in a rural setting near Tunbridge Wells (ample parting) you'll need to be dynamic and hard working but ambitious to join a busy practice and develop yourself as well as help drive it’s success further. 

You’ll be working for one of the UK’s leading surgeons specialising in upper gastro-intestinal and laparoscopic surgery.

Based near Tunbridge Wells your primary role will be to represent him and his practice to patients, other doctors as well as hospitals and other stakeholders. You will be the managing the “shop window” and the administration to support the practice. While experience as a medical secretary is preferable it is not essential if you’re willing to learn and adapt your skills.

Responsibilities

Key components  of the role will include:

You will work as a personal assistant, supporting the surgeon and working with the other members of the practice team.

Speaking to patients to manage enquiries as well as other doctors, hospitals and other people and organisations involved in the care of patients are essential components of the role.

Diary management. You will be responsible for organising the working week and ensuring that diaries and calendars are up to date.

Booking face to face clinic as well as virtual appointments, operating and endoscopy lists and other components of patients care pathways

Typing clinic letters, operation notes and other documents as necessary.

Managing the results of investigations and logging outcomes with regular follow up.

Managing billing and invoicing

Helping to develop the practice, evolving systems and processes to ensure its efficiency and that it offers a first class experience to our patients.

Specific skills

Typing (medical terminology an advantage but not essential)
Proficiency with Word and ideally Excel and salesforce
Basic book keeping skills (Zero)

Excellent communication skills

Happy to work as part of a team, but also independently 

Able to work under pressure and manage own workload
