Contract position based in Hemel Hempstead
Mon-Thu: 07:45-16:45 - 1 hour for lunch
Friday: 07:45-12:45
As Shipping Administrator, you will be part of a small team arranging the shipping of import and export orders and completing the necessary documentation. This will involve arranging by air & road, sending orders to transport companies, dealing with delivery queries.
With previous import or export administration experience, you will be confident on the phone speaking with customers, with the ability to work in a busy office, and manage your workload effectively.
Duties:
?? Act as the first point of contact for customers to resolve delivery queries.
?? Control imports into the UK by providing customs clearance instructions.
?? Processing all customs paperwork and shipping documentation including Export Licence controlled goods.
?? Tracking shipments to resolve any delays.
?? Arrange dispatch paperwork.
?? Provide accurate shipping instructions, co-ordinate all freight transport, optimizing routings for cost savings.
?? General administration, including scanning & archiving to assist the shipping team.
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
?? Can work on own initiative to resolve delays.
?? Previous knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook.
?? Experience using courier web portals; FedEx, DHL, UPS, TNT
?? Experience with SAP would be advantageous.
?? Self-motivated, pro-active, punctual, shows attention to detail, adaptable, with effective communication skills - verbal and written.
?? Knowledge of customs requirements.
Planning and Decision Making:
?? Can work on own initiative to resolve delays.
?? Able to plan shipments worldwide considering Export Licences, DGR regulations, remote locations and Import Permits.
?? Manage workloads effectively.
Impact and Scope:
?? The Shipping team support inventory, production line, and play a key role in the supply chain for the site.
?? Manage Equipment & Deliveries for off-site installations.
Key Internal and External Relationships:
?? Work with Suppliers, Customers, Logistics providers.
?? Support the Global Logistics for tenders and projects.
?? Co-ordinate with worldwide offices on orders and support their requirements
