A recently merged organisation that continues to grow has a requirement for a newly created position of Chief People Officer (HR Director). As part of the senior management team and reporting to the CEO the HRD will be responsible for a Human Resources Team and drive the preparation and delivery of a extensive, high-impact People Plan and utilise broad HR generalist skills (including but not limited to colleague engagement, leadership development, internal communications, EDI, talent and succession and reward and recognition). Collaboration and team leadership is essential for this HR Director role in this fast-moving environment (expected to involve more mergers and acquisitions). They are looking to appoint an inspiring, delivery-focused and commercial Chief People Officer (HRD) to positively influence and engage their People.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* People (HR) & Engagement planning and reporting; On-going development of a clear People & Engagement plan, aligned with corporate strategic plan and success metrics, Cross-business engagement and monthly KPI reporting.
* Team Leadership: Lead the People (HR) team, focusing on development and support
* Colleague Engagement; Guide and practically support Change Programmes where necessary, co-ordinate internal communications activities, Lead a full programme of engagement activities. Acquisitions and Integration; Advise on the People and organisational design aspect of existing and future mergers and acquisitions. Lead and advise on related TUPE activity.
* Learning and Development; Develop and implement a Leadership Development programme and design and oversee the delivery of a Talent and Succession programme.
* Performance and Development; Capture learning and development trends and needs, identifying appropriate inventions, including 'lunch and learn' style sessions for managers in best HR & management practice.
* Recruitment and Selection; Oversee the development of all recruitment strategy and processes. Employee relations management; Ensure that all employee relations issues are handled according to policy, taking advice where appropriate
* Projects, Policies and Procedures; Develop contractual arrangements, handbooks and policies to ensure alignment with our culture and legal compliance
Candidate Requirements:
* CIPD qualified
* Senior leadership experience, ideally in a Main Board or Divisional Board setting as a HRD or Head of HR
* Demonstrable record of co-ordinating and delivering pro-active, high impact leadership and colleague engagement initiatives
* Broad general experience across the full spectrum of HR / People activities.
* Experience of managing significant organisational change, ideally to include the integration of newly acquired businesses.
* Up to date HR and employment law knowledge.
* Proficient IT skills, specifically the use of Microsoft Office applications and HR software
There will be remote working available but you must be prepared to travel. There are teams across the UK, so they are relaxed about the physical home base, although the HR team are based in Chester
