An exciting opportunity has arisen within Surrey County Council's Land and Property service. Are you looking for a new opportunity to develop your career in Land and Property, working alongside enthusiastic professionals who want to make a difference?

Land and Property is involved in an improvement programme with a view to delivering a more efficient and cost-effective provision of services which links everything back to its finance, business, resource capability and culture across the Council's ambitious estates programme.

We are looking for an experienced individual to provide senior assistance and secretarial support to the Capital Delivery Assistant Director in relation to managing, organising, prioritising and co-ordinating their work. This will involve complex diary management, organising meetings and away days, producing complex reports and presentations and ensuring the Director is well briefed and prepared with the relevant paperwork for all meetings.

The Senior Personal Assistant to the Assistant Director is a high-profile role where tact, initiative, discretion and the ability to perform to the highest of professional standards are critical. The role will also require liaising with Cabinet Members and Officers within the organisation and externally with districts and boroughs and other public, private, voluntary and independent agencies and representative organisations in support of the leadership of the Council. You will need to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion, together with the ability to enable successful relationships with key contacts.

To apply and be considered for this position your application will clearly evidence:

  • Experience of working with Assistant Directors or Directors, Senior Officers and/or Members, with a successful track record of organising events
  • Experience of diary management and administration at a high level
