Interim HR Manager - maternity cover

Location: Essex

GBP35,000 - GBP40,000 negotiable plus pension and 28 days holiday excluding statutory days

My clients are a leading environmental drainage service that have been operating for over 25 years and are very well established. They are now looking for an experienced HR Manager to join their team.

Purpose of the role

Being a key member of the Senior Management team you will be reporting directly into the Chairman. You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the human resources function across the business and making sure all HR and payroll processes and procedures are maintained. You will also anticipate solutions in supporting strategic goals, improving business performance in staffing, change management and key people plans.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

* Prepare and process company wages on a monthly basis, which include the processing of HMRC and pension uploads. Ensuring any payroll payments are processed such as Child Maintenance, attachment of earnings, SSP claims and tax code changes

* Maintain SAGE payroll database

* Administer the company pension scheme and employee contributions

* Review, update and improve company policies and procedures and maintain the employment manual

* Maintain the HR database and data protection of employee files

* Review and issue job descriptions accordingly

* Overseeing the recruitment process and liaise with recruitment agencies in liaison with he HR assistant

* Coach managers with Employment Relation issues and support absence, performance management, disciplinaries and capability meetings

* Managing the Exit interview process

To apply you MUST have or hold:

* Hold CIPD

* Previous HR Management experience

* Experience of working in an SME

* MUST have experience in completing payroll using SAGE for the company

* Have the ability to multitask and manage a number of priorities
