The Role
The role’s main purpose is to provide effective finance partnering to the Client Management teams (currently 20 managers), and ensure accurate and timely processing of c. 700 client payments and £5m turnover per month, the end to end accounting processes which accompany each transaction, as well as income forecasting. Client payments are administered through Tagmin, an off the shelf package. Managing a team of 5 and reporting to the CFO the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Payment Processing
• Daily tracking of bank receipts and open items; regularly seeking information on unidentified receipts.
• Identification and allocation of receipts, generation and approval of client statements, effecting daily payments and commission transfers.
• Final approval of all payments and statements before they are sent out.
• Ensuring monthly payment of third party agents.
• First responder to payment and VAT queries from clients and Managers; team VAT expert.
• Tracking client disbursements and expenses.
Financial Accounting
• Weekly client bank account reconciliations.
• Monthly income reconciliations.
• Monthly client creditors and debtors reconciliations and commentary.
• Managing regular data transfer from Tagmin to accounting system, and responsibility for finding solutions to errors where needed.
Forecasting & Reporting
• Provide weekly updates of commission income forecasts to senior management team, working closely with Managers to agree the latest figures.
• Work with Managers to produce annual budget and quarterly reforecasts, both full year and monthly phasing.
• Provide commentary and analysis on month end Management results and contribute to management accounting pack.
Additional Responsibilities
• Continue to learn and improve processes by building greater understanding of the wider company processes and ways of working.
• Regularly interact with Management Department and work together to identify improvements to the payments process and resolve any issues that may arise.
• Build relationship and trust with managers and a solid understanding of clients and the types of work undertaken.
• Manage the client payments team and provide guidance, training and development where needed.
• Tagmin system manager on behalf of the finance team.
The ideal candidate should be:
• Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA with PQE.
• Have a strong academic record with first degree 2:1 or above.
• This is a heavily transactional department which requires strong attention to detail and motivation to deliver a first class service internally and to our clients externally.
• Can-do attitude and confidence to deal with wide range of internal and external colleagues is necessary.
• Previous experience of setting up, managing and improving processes in a large volume environment is required.
• Organised, self-motivated, and focused on constantly improving (self and processes).
• Motivated to be part of an exciting, growing business and the drive to become a key player in taking the business forward.
The role is full-time based in the Central London Offices (nearest tube Oxford Circus), with home-working during Covid-related shutdowns. Office working hours are 0900-1800 or 0930-1830.
