We are looking for an experienced candidate for a Head of Operations position, working for a fashion brand in Central London.

The Head of Operations serves as supporting strategic and operational decision making. Primary responsibility includes collaborating with the business Leadership team to create and execute the business strategy, planning and forecasting. This person will be responsible for managing the Logistics, Operations, Licensing, Shipping and Legal functions and the supporting automation and e-commerce systems.

The Head of Operations will report directly to the CEO and be accountable for Planning, Logistics, International Shipping, Licensing, Operations and Legal on an international scale. They will own the business systems infrastructure to ensure it is fit for purpose and the needs of the business and offers an exceptional customer and employee experience. They will be responsible for the operational and procedural improvements necessary to increase efficiency and profitability. He/She will set the operational direction of the company and be an active participant in and active driver of the company's overall performance͘. Heͬ/She will lead all Operational business planning͘, as a member of the Senior Management team, the Head of Operations will work closely with the senior management team and be responsible for the smooth running of operations across all functions.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer focused business acumen, and the ability to be a true business partner to the CEO. The ideal candidate will drive systems innovation, possess strong analytical skills and have the ability to examine, develop, re-engineer, recommend, effectively communicate and implement global policies and procedures and solutions on operational, legal IP, licensing and international solutions.

Duties and responsibilities;

  • Responsible for in-house automated business systems, IT and any new systems implementation and troubleshooting including
  • Training of all staff on new system
  • Liaise with Finance department to ensure reconciliation of zero-rated sales in order to provide necessary paperwork for HMRC
  • Ensure the global shipping /logistics infrastructure
  • Responsible for the daily domestic and international activities of the shipping function
  • Manage all shipping logistics for the entire business activity including deliveries/ returns to and from clients
  • Accountable for arranging import and export of bespoke orders
  • Liaising with customs regarding import of external manufactured items
  • Liaising with HMRC/Barclays Bank regarding VAT bond
  • Tracking and ensuring shipments are delivered in a timely manner
  • Maintaining relationships with carrier vendors and resolving client shipping issues
  • Responsible for the accuracy of shipping order fulfilment working with purchasing to monitor and prioritise products being shipped from vendors, inventory allocations and making decisions regarding inbound and outbound freight methods and costs
  • Pack and complete paperwork for mailing purposes; FedEx and Security Courier shipments
  • Deliver registered mail packages and security courier shipments to post Office and Security Courier Company Offices
  • Responsible for processing of web sales including creation of invoices, fulfilment, distribution and shipping
  • Responsible for back-end, ecommerce technology
  • Work in conjunction with FD on foreign exchange currency pricing on regular basis
  • Establish delivery timelines for territories especially those territories we ship to on an ongoing basis
  • Inventory maintenance, reconciliation and flagging required reorders on website
  • Responsible for global inventory; provide the framework and ensure reconciliation of unfinished, finished and components on a monthly basis
  • Ensuring project/department milestones are met adhering to approved budgets
  • Providing recommendations for operational and procedural improvements to increase efficiency and profitability
  • Developing detailed, realistic short- and long-term financial forecasts and operational plans
  • Liaise with Finance department in analysing monthly operating results against budget
  • Managing all aspects of licensing operations, including contract negotiations, with both domestic and foreign companies
  • Monitoring key performance indicators
  • Hiring and developing a best-in-class support team in all reporting areas

To be considered for this role you must;

  • Have 5+ years of experience working as Head of Operations for a luxury brand
  • Be eligible to work within the UK
  • Be fluent in English Language
  • Have a valid passport
