A London and Sussex-based Family Office with varied interests that currently include Art and Film production and Property Development, is looking for an ACA-qualified Deputy Head of UK Family Office, with strong experience of tax and legal matters.

Due to increasing growth and complexity of the group, there is a need for direct support for the Head of Family Office overseeing multiple projects and a diverse portfolio of companies for the Principals, strengthening the existing finance team and helping to guide the financial activities of the business.

Accounting experience is a pre-requisite and familiarity with Xero, extremely useful. The successful candidate will likely have a practice background and understanding of legal and tax implications and structures will be helpful, enabling rigorous review and discussion of documents and proposals.

As this is a new position the successful applicant will be expected to be pro-active in seeking ways that they might get involved to lighten the workload of the Head of the Family Office and to carve out a meaningful role for themselves. An audit background may be useful as this will be somewhat of a roving role with involvement in many aspects of the Principals’ activities, offering support, asking questions and getting hands-on knowledge and involvement in the multifarious projects with which they are engaged.

This is an extremely busy and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will also likely have previous Family Office experience and thus understand the need to be flexible (both in range of duties and hours), autonomous and very “hands-on”, rather than relying on a support team.

This will be a senior role that will report directly to the Head of the Family Office.
