Our client, a market leader in its specialist field, is hoping to attract a Secretarial Team Leader to work on a permanent basis between the hours of 9 and 5 Monday to Friday. Under the job title of Practice Support Manager, you will be based in the Nottingham office (although you will be working remotely for the foreseeable future). However, following government guidelines on safely travelling to work, you will still be able to work from home in this position as long as you are able to commute into the Nottingham office when needed (you will need to be able to display full flexibility on this aspect to satisfy the needs of the business). Your role as Practice Support Manager will be to lead a team of 15 staff within the Health & Litigation Group which deals heavily with Clinical Negligence cases and the subsequent inquests. Reporting to the National Head of Secretarial Services, your main duties will be to act as mentor to your team, managing individual performance of team members which will include holding regular progress meetings as well as handling the annual appraisal process for your group. You will be involved in the interview process for new hires, ensure a smooth induction for new starters, deal with probation reviews and set agreed, achievable objectives for your staff going forwards. You will also monitor staff performance and identify any required training needs to ensure that your staff are able to attain the highest level of service delivery. To be considered, you must be able to demonstrate previous experience of managing/supervising a team of business services staff and/or secretaries within a legal or professional services environment. Although the role is managerial, you must possess strong technical ability with MS Office (W/PP/XL) in case there is the rare occasion that you need to turn your hand to any secretarial work.
