Our client, a prestigious US headquartered law firm, is looking to recruit an HR Officer to provide HR support to the London office and to assist the HR Director EMEA. This is a broad-based role encompassing a full range of Human Resources activities to support HR initiatives in London in a proactive, business-focused and flexible way. The HR Officer will also assists the HR Director EMEA in a wide range of EMEA projects and will act as a backup when the director is absent.

Key responsibilities will include:

Employee Relations and General HR: Advise employees of firm policies and procedures; manage the end of probation period for all new joiners, liaise with managers to ensure everything is on track; Assist with discipline and grievance issues, and generally take a first line managerial lead on these issues in relation to support and secretarial staff. Support submission of annual SRA renewalPerformance Management: Co-ordinate the support staff year end evaluation and merit compensation process. Support the performance management process of lawyers as and when requiredStaff Recruitment: Manage support staff recruitment, including temporary hires. Review and update job descriptions. Act as a first point of contact with recruitment agencies. Conduct first stage interviews for roles below the manager level. Handle approval process through WorkdayStaff Training: In conjunction with other departments, coordinate and organise internal and external training sessions for staff and attorneys in the London office. Manage the training matrix and updating training records accordingly. Liaise with global counter-parts for coordination of assigning all relevant training including mandatory modules. Organise training eventsPayroll: Accountable for payroll for London and some international offices. Check monthly payroll and undertake month-end procedures. Liaise with Global Payroll Manager on monthly and year end administration. Produce form P11D's and provide input for P60 annual process, alongside the HR Coordinator. Act as a back-up for monthly payroll input for the above offices, in absence of HR Coordinator.Compensation and Benefits: Act as a first point of contact for external vendors / brokers/ advisors for firm's benefits in conjunction with the firm wide benefits function. Ensure UK pension administration compliance with current law. Reconcile monthly pension payments and deal with the subsequent documentation and administration for the firms' staff pension. Manage the group life assurance, income protection, death in service and private medical schemes; enrolments, terminations. Assist in promoting and evolving the existing benefits programmes. Assist with managing the staff and associates' annual salary review processes and bonuses; administer these processes accordingly. Complete compensation and benefits surveys as and when required.Visas and Immigration: Arrange visa applications, track of current visas and arrange for renewals. Maintain annual audit files. Manage upcoming immigration processes. Be up to date with immigration legislation; lead implementation of any new processes required post-Brexit to ensure full compliance with immigration laws.HR Information systems: Own all aspects of HRIS ('Workday') projects, initiatives and programmes for London, and where necessary - for other EMEA offices. Responsible for ensuring HR data is accurately maintained and reported in Workday

The ideal candidate for the HR Officer role will have a Bachelors degree and a CIPD qualification is strongly preferred. You will have previous HR generalist experience at a comparable level from a professional services environment. You must be a self-starter with excellent time management and organisational skills and have the ability to work collaboratively. A proactive, flexible, can-do attitude is a must! Experience of using Workday would be beneficial.
