Patent Secretary

£40,000 p. plus an excellent benefits package

Permanent

Central London (currently working remotely due to COVID-19 and travel restrictions)

 

Role Description:

Assisting with IP Office submissions and client communications
Preparing and filing EP, PCT and GB patent applications using online filing software
Preparing and filing Registered GB and Community Designs
Reporting official IP Office communications to clients
Assisting with general patent prosecution matters/formalities

Some examples of tasks that you will be responsible for include:

Recording straightforward changes at EPO and UKIPO
Letting clients know status of a case
Forwarding documents to foreign agents

Other duties:

Data management
Post and electronic filing
Diary Management and meeting planning
Email inbox management
Time recording and billing
Travel management
Event organisation and participation

Ad hoc queries:

There are always things that come up that are not on a role description - digging around for
this or that or answering questions on all sorts of things, running reports, photocopying,
making binders.

Essential Experience:

2-5 years' of patent secretarial experience
