Senior Financial Editor – Manchester - £50,000 per annum – 12-month initial contract with a view to being made permanent
A very well-known and prestigious financial organisation are expanding and are opening brand-new offices in Manchester. They are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Editor to join them on an initial 12-month contract basis, but this is very likely to be extended or made permanent.
You will be an experienced and capable Editor with a desire to create impactful and insightful material for the organisation. Within this exciting new role, you will be working closely with other Editors in the London offices, you will publish well-formed research and press releases to the company website. Working closely with desktop formatters, you will use your skills in Microsoft Word and Excel to create compelling material for this market-leading brand.
This position will be based in Manchester, close to Piccadilly Station. They are offering a very generous salary of £50,000 per annum and are renowned for really knowing how to look after their staff with excellent bonuses and benefits packages.

Role responsibilities
• Editing reports for content, grammar, structure and style whilst maintaining quality standards
• Liaising regularly with teams to support accuracy and style standards in the publishing process
• Liaising closely with analysts to produce a quality, finished product
• Checking final documents to ensure all information (text and graphics) is clear and accurate
• Ensuring documents are appropriately indexed and passed along to production or archived in the research database correctly • Helping to manage reports through to completion, including consistency of fundamental information on reports and in databases
• Providing constructive criticism on structure, grammar - liaising with colleagues to ensure accuracy of text and graphics
• Liaising with press team to ensure that press releases and research reports are coordinated
Skills required
• Strong knowledge of the financial markets industry
• Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management
• Able to handle multiple research reports and edit within tight deadlines
• Must be able to work as part of a close-knit team as well as independently
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel with working knowledge of Visio being advantageous
