Graduate Recruitment & Development Advisor required by successful US law firm to cover a maternity contract for up to 12 months. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a close-knit and friendly HR team. The Graduate Recruitment & Development Advisor is responsible for coordinating all activities and processes relating to the London office Graduate Recruitment and Trainee Solicitors programme. You may also be involved in the recruitment of lateral Associates.

Key responsibilities for the Graduate Recruitment & Development Advisor will include:

  • Coordinates the hiring and on-boarding process for Open Day candidates, Summer Students and Trainee Solicitor candidates and ensures the London office implements a non-discriminatory recruitment and selection program for all candidates in the areas of recruitment, advertising, postings, screening and interviewing candidates and onboarding
  • Develops relationships with stakeholders at universities, coordinates and represents the Firm at various university law fairs throughout the UK and other profile raising activities
  • Develops, reviews and maintains recruitment materials, brochures, student directories, firm website, Apply4Law and other relevant information for the London trainee programme
  • Coordinates and administers all aspects of the first-year open day programme and summer vacation scheme
  • Coordinates and administers all aspects of the trainee interview process and informal work experience placements
  • Reviews and measures the impact of trainee recruitment practices and identifies opportunities to improve existing practices and continually strives to suggest new initiatives and improvements to the recruitment campaigns
  • Liaises with future trainees regarding attendance at law school, including but not limited to course enrolment, payment of course fees, payment of maintenance grants and elective choices
  • Maintains regular contact with successful candidates up to start date, and invites all future trainees to Firm social events
  • Coordinates all aspects of the new hire process and the new trainee induction programme
  • Acts as the first point of contact for any day to day queries from the Trainee population
  • Coordinates the seat rotation process alongside the Training Principal and prepares documentation relating to the seat moves i PANs, secondment terms and travel arrangements for overseas seats
  • Coordinates both the mid-seat and end-of-seat evaluation processes, ensuring all communications are distributed, the requisite evaluation forms are completed with meaningful feedback and that each stage of the process is completed within the due timeframe
  • Booking PSC electives for trainees and actively reminding trainees to attend courses and complete the online modules
  • Coordinates the NQ process alongside the Training Principal and completes SRA admission forms
  • Coordinates Diversity Survey on an annual basis, collating and publishing results with all relevant bodies
  • Supports the HR Manager, as required, with coordination of recruitment activities, including, but not limited to, advertising, postings, screening, interviewing and hiring
  • Active member of the London office Diversity and Inclusion Committee

The ideal candidate for this Graduate Recruitment & Development Advisor contract role will have previous Graduate Recruitment experience from a law firm and have excellent written and oral communications skills. You must have the ability to function as a hands-on practitioner; be technically strong in all HR functional areas; and be a team player who can work effectively with all levels of personnel. You must be confident and able to establish credibility quickly, and you have to be able to commit to completing the whole contract.
