THE COMPANY:

My client, one of the largest trade representative bodies in the UK, are looking for a confident, reliable and highly organised individual with senior level experience in data and compliance. You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to implement policies and regulations to existing internal staff.

THE ROLE:
  • Maintain a documented record of all data flows across the company to advise and ensure that personal data is managed in accordance with Data Protection regulations
  • Develop and document a programme to maintain customer compliance
  • Maintain and revise policies and procedures to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct
  • Direct data and compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution
  • Respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standards of conduct by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigations
  • Develop and oversee a system for handling violation allegations
  • Coordinate compliance activities of other departments within the company
  • Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop and implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues
  • Provide reports on a regular basis to keep the Board and senior management informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts
  • Maintain an effective data/compliance communication programme
  • Maintain an effective compliance training programme for all new existing employees and managers.
  • Monitor the performance of data and compliance activities, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness
THE PERSON:
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to deal with sensitive and confidential situations in a professional way
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Proven experience in a data and compliance at a senior level  
  • Confident and fluent in report writing and oral presentation
  • Flexible and reliable, with a good eye for detail
  • A self-starter with the ability to work effectively without supervision
