Legal Secretary – Commercial Property/Real Estate

City of London

£32,000 - £38,000 pa + Excellent Benefits

Exhibit your strong Conveyancing expertise and work within a highly established mid-sized law firm supporting a team of fee earners within the Commercial Property/Real Estate department. The ideal candidate will have strong Commercial Property knowledge, and be able to demonstrate excellent awareness of all Conveyancing procedures and searches. The workload is varied with frequent deadlines to achieve, and therefore the legal secretary will be expected to build a good understanding of the nature of the fee earners’ work, client base as well as be able to build strong internal relationships with other PA’s. As a Legal Secretary, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering a high quality and professional service to a Partner and small team of Fee Earners in Real Estate
  • Arranging meetings both internally and externally
  • Carrying out Conveyancing searches, Land Registry searches and other property-related admin including producing engrossments and other legal documents
  • Audio dictation and document comparisons
  • Organising and prioritising busy workloads
  • Full diary management, arranging meetings, conference calls, lunches and events
  • Maintaining filing systems, e-filing, archiving and retrieval
  • Travel arrangements (flights, accommodation, agendas, itineraries)

Personal Competencies:

​You will need to be able to demonstrate previous Commercial Property/Real Estate expertise, excellent interpersonal and communication skills whilst delivering a high-quality and efficient service. You will also have:

  • Previous Legal PA experience within Real Estate, Commercial Conveyancing
  • Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to cope with numerous conflicting demands in a calm and unflappable manner
  • Self-motivated, keen to take ownership of work and responsibilities
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Advanced MS Office knowledge and minimum typing speeds of 60-65wpm
  • Minimum 5 GCSE’s Grade C or Above or equivalent
