Legal Secretary in Family/Private Client (Maternity Cover)

London

£32,000 - £37,500 pro rata + Excellent Benefits

An exceptional and competent Legal Secretary is required to join the Family/Private Client division within this renowned and forward-thinking law firm to cover maternity leave for 12 Months. The Legal Secretary will take an active interest in understanding all aspects of client requirements and providing an exceptional service to both Lawyers and Clients. Supporting two Partners in this busy environment, the ideal Legal Secretary will be multifaceted and highly organised and be able to take on a myriad of duties, working within tight timeframes whilst managing conflicting workloads. As a Legal Secretary, your responsibilities will include:

  • Full PA support to the Partners and acting as the gatekeeper, filtering calls and emails
  • Extensive internal and external communications
  • Full inbox management – actioning and responding to emails appropriately on behalf of the Partners
  • Opening and closing new client matters and carrying out due diligence checks
  • Arranging of client meetings and events – first port of call for client enquiries
  • Full diary management, setting up appointments and international travel arrangements
  • Preparing travel itineraries, organising flights, accommodation, Visas, transportation
  • Time recording, monthly billings
  • Some document production, proof-reading and amendments
  • Working on Marketing and BD initiatives for the Fee Earners, including PowerPoint presentations
  • Producing Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations
  • Booking conferences, video conferences and seminars
  • Preparing trial bundles and briefs to Counsel

Personal Competencies:

​You will need to be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, delivering a high-quality and efficient service. You will also have:

  • Previous secretarial experience of working in Family, Private Client or Litigation
  • Strong billings experience
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage conflicting workloads, prioritise well and work to deadlines
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Advanced MS Office knowledge and minimum typing speeds of 60-65wpm
  • Minimum 5 GCSE’s Grade C or Above or equivalent
