Secretarial /Executive Assistant Team Manager – Central London

Our client is a high profile global professional services firm with a terrific reputation, amazing location and long term career opportunities. They are looking for an experienced individual to take responsibility for managing and developing their team of Executive and Team Assistants together with recruiting and training the best talent to complement the team.

The role is a mixture of operational and strategic support and requires strong leadership skills, experience of managing large teams of business support staff and to have operated within a professional services environment.

This position acts as a role model and key influencer in the business.

Day to day secretarial management responsibilities:

  • Workflow co-ordination - strategically assess needs across the business
  • Co-ordinate secretarial operational issues and logistical requirements
  • Ensure absences are covered across the business
  • Manage ratios of EAs to Executives
  • Monitoring productivity of EA team
  • Resolve any conflicts within the team and ensuring a harmonious resolution
  • Full recruitment lifecycle
  • Performance review process, benchmarking and evaluations
  • Development and delivery of induction programme
  • Identify and implement training needs and programmes
  • Coaching and motivating
  • Establish operating priorities
  • Build relationships with stakeholders and HR to implement and drive change
  • Extensive project and management responsibilities

Experience and Skill Requirements

  • A relationship builder who can think ahead and be compassionate
  • Objective in approach, able to see the big picture
  • Substantial experience in a similar role and professional services environment.
  • Experience of motivating and developing high functioning teams of business support professionals
  • Mentoring and coaching skills, ability to influence
  • Expertise in developing staff and training plans, turning around under performers and managing aspirations high achievers
  • Project management experience
  • Proven expertise in stakeholder relationship management, building networks and operating in a collaborative environment
  • Able to build trust, exercise good judgement and can operate under pressure
  • Hands on and very flexible
