Junior Press Officer Job Description

I am currently working on an amazing Junior Press Officer role for a well-funded start-up. You will be joining a highly busy communications team based in central London. Salary £22K - £25K DOE!

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is able to hit the ground running with minimal supervision. Experience of at least interning in PR is essential and an interest in politics, current affairs or communications would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
• Anticipate and spot breaking news to issue swift, robust and appropriate responses
• Organise events
• Liaise with and respond to enquiries with the media
• Create media lists, write and distribute press releases
• Collate and analyse media coverage
• Proactively generate new story ideas
• Support with social media
• Scan news articles for relevant stories

Requirements

• A degree from a Russell Group University
• Strong understanding of current affairs and political processes
• Basic knowledge and understanding of social media platforms
• Experience of responding quickly and agilely to media requests
• Experience of computer programmes including (Excel, Word and Photoshop)
• Dynamic, hard-working, passionate and keen to be part of a busy, friendly team
