Established US law firm is looking to hire a new Client & Office Accounts Controller, reporting to the Director of International Account, to take the lead for client and office account transactions and this will be a key and high profile role to ensure all client and office account transactions are processed in an accurate and timely manner. This role is the key contact for all International offices for client and office account transactions and will be expected to act as a mentor to the accounts assistant when processing bank related transactions. Duties will include liaising with the bank on day-to-day treasury issues, coordinating with the Accounts Assistant to ensure posting of cash receipts in Aderant on a daily basis, dealing with unapplied balances in a timely manner, performing daily check to ensure all receipts are posted from previous day, coordination of the production of client account receipt & payment forms with partners and their secretaries, posting of client account receipts and payments in Aderant on a daily basis, reviewing client account balances on a monthly basis and liaising with partners and clients to return or dispense funds and updating monthly spreadsheet for review, providing client monies ledger reports for fee earners, making sure SRA Accounts Rules are adhered to at all times, coordinating with the Accounts Assistant in the posting and timely payment of 3rd party experts and counsel via Global Exchange, the preparation of bank reconciliations, the coordination of posting un-reconciled items from London & Brussels bank reconciliations including un-presented cheques, coordinating with the Accounts Assistant in the preparation of the yearly daily bank balances for the foreign bank account filing for Head Office, preparation of some Balance Sheet reconciliations, assisting with the coordination of the London Office’s SRA Accounts Rules audit with the firm’s auditors, coordination and preparation of the annual PSA filing, preparation and filing of the London quarterly VAT return and assisting the Director of International Accounting with ad hoc tasks. Applicants need to have a minimum of five years of law firm financial experience, prior supervisory experience preferred and finance degree or professional qualifications would be beneficial as would strong knowledge of law firm accounting software. Offices are based in the City, working 9:30 – 17:30.
