Our client is offering an exciting opportunity to administer and liaise with patients from overseas staying at a fabulous new facility during their medical treatments in London and UK.

The ideal candidate should have experience in a similar role, good communication skills, pleasant demeanour, be highly organised and enjoys dealing with the general public and patients.

The facility is a beautifully restored and refurbished historic building in London, that provides accommodation for patients and relatives travelling to London for medical treatment. The 37 room facility comprises of en-suite rooms, common areas and designed to be a “Home from Home” for sponsored patients travelling from overseas.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Client and Patient Liaison

  • Act as a point of contact for the sponsored patients staying at the facility or attending medical referrals in London/UK and act as liaison service for patients, carers, relatives, service users.
  • Provide accurate and impartial information about the services provided
  • Deal with all sponsored patients issues in UK
  • Be available to meet and greet patients who require extra help.  The requests will come directly from the sponsored patients department
  • Point of contact for patients, carers, who wish to make a complaint and, guiding and supporting them through the Complaints procedure.
  • Check patients follow up appointments and ensure they have to stay in UK.
  • Help in changing or chasing hospital appointments on behave of the patient.  At all times being fully aware of patient needs and them having to stay on in UK.

Expenses and Financial Admin

  • Pay all sponsored patients and their escorts their maintenance allowance and travel expenses
  • Visit families in the hospital to pay their allowances if they are not able fit or well enough to travel.
  • Prepare payments and replenish the balance of the petty cash again liaising with the sponsored patients department.
  • Maintain accurate records of administrative and financial data in accordance with policies and procedures.

Travel Arrangements

  • Book flights and taxis
  • Assist with travel arrangements and advise on the best train and bus routes to accommodate their journey.
  • Research and book travel when patients have to travel via land due to their medical condition.

Room bookings

  • Manage the room booking system and liaise with the Sponsored Patients Department in managing their requests.
  • Liaise with the Sponsored Patients team with which patients have priority in being accommodated
  • Allocate rooms on Sponsored Patient’s instructions on patient’s requirements dependant on clinical state and ability.
  • Officer may have to work out of normal officer hours and do a certain amount of overtime.  On call may be necessary to facilitate helping the sponsored patients on call officer overseas.
  • Fluent in English.  Spanish would be an advantage but not essential.
