We are seeking a paralegal to support the legal, finance and operations team working in a dynamic environment across a wide range of transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the production of documentation based on precedent forms (e.g. support letters, NDAs, powers of attorney)
  • Running NDA process in conjunction with external provider and providing legal input and instruction where necessary
  • Reviewing and coordinating signing of release letters for due diligence reports
  • Assisting with signings and undertaking post-completion tasks
  • Assisting with the review of condition precedent documents (e.g. legal opinions, security accessions)
  • General administration, including electronic filing
  • Assisting with ad hoc queries from finance, operations, business development
  • Review of transfer provisions in documents and drafting transfer documentation and secondary trading documentation
  • Drafting board packs/board memos
  • Assisting with fund structure set-up
  • Develop effective working relationships with members of the team and other departments and contribute towards the efficient and effective operation of the legal team, collaborating effectively with the key business and legal stakeholders where relevant
  • Additional ad hoc duties as and when required


Candidate Profile

  • High level of IT literacy
  • MS Word, Outlook and Excel experience
  • The ability to communicate effectively to all levels of staff, including lawyers, PAs, partners
  • Knowledge of leveraged finance transactions or secondary trading an advantage
  • Transactional experience essential

Qualifications And Training

  • Law degree, or equivalent
  • LPC or BVC
  • Knowledge of leveraged finance transactions or secondary trading an advantage
  • Previous in-house experience in a fund or buy-side environment would be helpful but candidates from a transactional background (corporate, M&A, derivatives) will be considered
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and a team player
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a number of concurrent tasks effectively and able to work under pressure to deadlines
  • Strong presentation skills with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Professional, efficient and business-like manner
  • Proactive and shows initiative
  • Flexible and willing to take on new and challenging tasks
