Relish this exciting opportunity to work as a Marketing & Business Development Manager for a renowned City law firm, reporting into the Chief Marketing Director but taking a lead on business development and marketing initiatives for the practice. The focus on the role will be to develop key client relationships and drive revenue growth whilst developing a clear strategy and business plan for the group. Working collaboratively with the central and regional Marketing teams, you will be responsible for supporting the Partners by managing a range of aligned Marketing and Business Development activities and ensuring plans are delivered in a timely and prompt manner, and supporting the delivery of the Business Development programme. The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent with relevant industry experience and have proven ability of working across all levels of business, preferably within a multi-jurisdictional environment. You will be able to demonstrate experience of initiating and implementing successful business development and marketing communications plans as well as managing the pitch process. As a Marketing & Business Development Manager, duties will encompass:
- In line with the group’s business objectives and working with the practice’s sub-sector teams, the central and regional marketing teams, developing a Marketing and Business Development strategy for the group
- Budgeting plan of activities to drive revenue growth
- Implementing the strategy and plan, including Marketing and BD budget management
- Proactively drive the industry group’s brand awareness through creative communications and business development activities including market and client research, database management, thought leadership, PR, targeting, directory and award submissions and an incisive event programme encompassing seminars and participation at industry events
- Using internal and external sources including working with PSL’s and other specialist in-house resources
- Proactively creating business development opportunities, including researching client and target activity as well as trends in specific market sectors
- Harnessing cross-selling opportunities wherever possible
- Drafting high impact pitch documents, RFP/ITT and capability documents
- Actively manage the practice’s participation in the firm’s Development Client Programme
- Managing the requirements for all marketing materials and activities in support of the Business Development programme including brochures, client/market research, directory submissions, website content, client bulletins/briefings, social media, seminars, conferences, reporting/ROI
- Championing specific campaigns originated from the regions and the communication of those activities
Personal Competencies:
You will need to be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, good commercial awareness, business acumen in this diverse, stimulating and responsible role, taking ownership of decisions and delivering a high-quality service. You will also have:
- Previous Marketing and Business Development experience of working in a fast-paced environment
- Supporting innovation: Developing product and other client driven innovation based on regular and current client insights
- Facilitating collaboration: Helping the business join-up and collaborate (across departments, sectors and regions), for example, cross-selling profitable work to current clients, and communicating the availability of specific products
- Educated to degree level or equivalent and a Marketing qualification or equivalent
