Before we talk about the job, I want to set the scene.
It’s Monday morning and you’re on a packed tube, you know that moment where it’s uncomfortably close to strangers and the announcement comes over the tannoy ‘this train will be held here to regulate the service.’ You hear the sighs from your fellow commuters.
It’s hot. Oh, and you’re late.
Do you ever think ‘There could be more to life than this?’
You’ve worked hard as an Assistant to get this far, you support a great person but perhaps you also feel limited in what you can do.
You have ideas, but they’re rarely heard.
You want more. More from your job, more from you life and definitely more from your commute.
Think six months from now, and you saw this job posting on LinkedIn – it described a different, dare I say better way of life, and you applied to the role because ‘well, why not… let’s find out’.
This client isn’t your usual run of the mill, diary, travel, meetings type of guy.
Maverick comes close. Entrepreneurship runs through his veins and he wants people for the journey.
About a year ago, he met a PA to be his PA, but as part of the process he realised something – she was smart, ambitious, entrepreneurial – she’d supported some leaders in the World of business and she’d learned a LOT. How they make decisions, when they say yes, when they walk away… he realised that she could do a lot more than the Diary, Travel and Meetings.
She joined his team as a Business Assistant – a role that would see her work closely with him – to learn from him, how he runs businesses that he has invested in and created, and he sees her growing into a true leadership role.
He wants to recreate this again with a new person.
It’s not your conventional route to CEO, but then he’s far from conventional.
You’ll be based outside of London, in one of the most beautiful areas in England so relocation would almost certainly be required, and there isn’t a tube train in sight.
It’s different and it won’t be for everyone.
But if you are still reading and asking ‘What if?’ then maybe we should talk?
After all, who knows where it could end?
