Web Developer
3-month contract with a view to become permanent

A well-known professional services organisation are looking for a talented Web Developer to join their friendly, fun and creative team. As the lead Web Developer, you will be you will be working within a busy in-house design team responding to daily tasks, engaging with the client, actively encouraging new ideas, software and solutions and will help inspire innovative creative services offered to the client.
Based in beautiful offices in the City, this role initially will be a 3-month contract with the expectation to offer a permanent position after this initial period.
Working within a friendly, professional team of talented Developers, Designers, Motion Graphics Designers and a Film and Photography team, you will be innovative with a creative focus and will be driven to produce high-quality deliverables and solutions within the client brand guidelines. You will have capabilities to both support the Web Designers and Developers in the production of digital solutions for the web and mobile devices, working collaboratively with the other members of the Web Development team and the Project Managers.
Creativity and innovation are encouraged within the team, therefore, you must be forward thinking with the ability to adapt and develop new ideas. The team are involved in a wide variety of projects ranging from event and campaign material to website designs and digital animation – so you must be adaptable and eager to get involved in new projects.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting the Team Lead Web Developer and the other web designers and developers
- Demonstrating client-focused attitude with good people skills, negotiating and presenting ideas in an easy to understand way
- Interpreting briefs from clients whilst advising them on the best technical and design solution within the remit of the team
- Educating and influencing clients to choose effective and functional designs and deliverables within timeframes
- Negotiating deadlines and cost estimates for campaigns
- Working closely with the offshore development team
- Managing multiple tasks and projects and prioritising accordingly
- Following standards and digital guidelines for branded materials
Person Specification
- 5+ years of experience in JavaScript, CSS, HTML, Bootstrap, Angular-JS/ react js and UI/UX Development. Experience in developing responsive web sites.
- Developing SPA’s and mobile applications.
- Good knowledge in Web API, RESTful Web Services design alongside evidence you can write testable, extendable and maintainable code
- Good understanding of cross-browser quirks
- Experience translating Photoshop work into responsive mark-up
- Working experience of CSS pre-processors (SASS / LESS)
- Experience of JavaScript task runners (grunt, gulp or webpack)
- Design and production of innovative UX/UI schemas
- Google practical understanding and execution of Google analytics, XML and XSLT
- Innovative with the ability to implement problem-solving initiatives
- Keen and eager to learn and develop new skills to support the growth of the team
- An active interest in new industry trends, emerging technologies and innovation
- Working in SharePoint architecture
- A pro-active, resilient, communicative, collaborative, organised approach
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail with excellent customer relationship management skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise an often-conflicting workload
