Leading architectural practice are looking for a Document Control Assistant to support their DC team

Your new company
This company has been around for over 30 ears and has grown from a hand full of employees to over 500. They are a leading architectural practice with key clients and projects in all major sectors, from housing, schools and more.

Your new role
You will be working alongside and supporting the Document Control Team Lead and team. You will be helping out with the day to day running of projects. The Document Control Team is part of the wider Support Team which ultimately reports to the Head of Practice Operations. The Support Team achieves its collective aims through teamwork, high levels of service to colleagues and clients.

  • Assisting to maintain the various project extranet and EDMS sites
  • Carrying out routine Document Control activities, such as filing, uploading & downloading, printing, query handling, copying and scanning, on a daily basis
  • Managing drawing files according to individual project procedures
  • Ensuring all procedures and protocols are followed at all times
  • Assisting to maintain the practice-wide document management system (Workspace/Union Square)
  • Archiving completed project information
  • Supporting the wider project team beyond Document Control responsibilities



What you'll need to succeed

  • Some document control experience within the architectural industry is preferred
  • Strong IT skills, including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Previous understanding of paper handling systems
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Rigourous attention to detail
  • Motivated and positive
  • Reliable and friendly
  • Ability to work independently, using own initiative when required
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Flexible, with a willingness to tackle a variety of duties and to learn new skills
  • Strong team player, with a readiness to 'muck in'
