We are now looking for a capable candidate to join us on an 8-month maternity-cover contract, working on a one-to-one basis with the CEO of a company whose mission is to play a significant role in solving the global plastic problem, and to be world leaders in chemical recycling.

They currently operate two chemical recycling plants in Spain, with two new contracts in Western Europe. They are headquartered in London with a team of around twenty-five.

The CEO has an extremely busy diary which is often subject to last minute changes, and a lot of this role is taken up with diary management, travel bookings and arranging international itineraries.

We are looking for someone who has several years’ previous EA experience (ideally in a small business) and is comfortable acting as the sole support to a senior executive, particularly with regards to managing travel.

This role is autonomous and requires someone who is detail-orientated, can manage their own time, and has the composure to deal with competing demands. As the CEO travels so much, we are looking for someone who is at ease communicating not only face-to-face and by email, but also by phone and text message.

There is an element of personal and family PA support and some travel around London will be required.


Hours:                  Monday to Friday only, but flexibility is required regarding exact hours and (remote) support in the evenings may be necessary, with an understanding that the CEO may contact the EA outside office hours

Location:              This position offers the flexibility of some home working, and for the postholder to manage their own workday and hours, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Provide extensive diary management (using Outlook)
  • Book and manage complex international travel and meeting arrangements, including visas and conference calls
  • Research and book restaurants
  • Process the CEO’s personal and credit card expenses
  • Liaise with other members of the Senior Management Team regarding internal meetings and documents
  • Act as the CEO’s gatekeeper, and build relationships with peers, stakeholders and potential clients
  • Carry out PA duties for the CEO’s family as and when required

Candidates must be / have:

  • At least three years’ experience of being an Executive Assistant or PA within a fast-moving business, providing one-to-one senior level support
  • Confident, co-operative and resourceful
  • Meticulous organisational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Open and communicative, with an excellent standard of oral and written English.  Knowledge of Spanish would be a benefit but not a necessity.
  • Astute and capable of problem solving
  • Ability to exercise appropriate judgement and discretion, especially when handling confidential information
  • Comfortable working alone, and managing workload and priorities, whilst also enjoying being part of the wider office team
  • An understanding and sensitivity towards different business customs
  • Ability to travel around London
  • A background or interest in sustainability or the renewable energy sector (desirable)
