A prestigious US Law Firm based in the city is looking to hire a new BD & Events Manager on a permanent basis to be responsible for developing and executing marketing and business development programs in the London Office.  Responsibilities will include co-developing and implementing practice- or office-centric business development strategies and plans with office leadership consistent with the firm’s strategic initiatives, collaborating with Lawyers to execute practice business development activities and plans, using resources across the firms’ marketing network, manage the London office event calendar with the assistance of the BD & Events Coordinator and plan events, roundtables, seminars, conferences, webinars and other firm-sponsored events; take primary responsibility for program planning, audience development, and directing lead follow-up, work closely with Lawyers, marketing staff, and firmwide personnel to prepare RFP responses, write proposals, and create presentations for new business, manage partnerships and seek strategic opportunities with trade bodies, membership groups, publications, and business consultancies to assess viable collaborations to create new client development initiatives, manage the firms participation in industry events including sponsorships and speaking engagements, lead fully integrated campaigns working with the in-house graphics team to produce collateral including brochures, adverts, email-shots/invitations, artwork for online and exhibition designs, oversee sign-off and budget approvals, expenditure, and verifying expenses and invoices, manage and build guest and mailing lists and process external and internal RSVPs and send regular registrant updates to Lawyers.  Other duties include keeping the office intranet up to date with upcoming events and successful BD initiatives, maintaing a strong knowledge of the global market for professional and legal services, including business trends and competitive landscape, support group and individual Lawyers business development efforts by identifying potential leads, collecting and sharing market and industry intelligence, representing the firm at networking events, tracking business development activity, and identifying professional and trade associations with which the office should affiliate.  Candidates must be degree educated, with a minimum of 5 years BD experience within a professional services organisation, preferrably within a law firm.  Candidates must have strong written, verbal, communication and organisational skills.
