FINANCE ASSISTANT 12 MONTH CONTRACT
SALARY £25,914 
IMMEDIATE START ESSENTIAL
LOCATED IN CENTRAL LONDON

I am working with a global charity that supports sustainable development and provides aid relief to disaster stricken areas around the world. 
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Finance Division in a flexible role forming part of a pool that provides financial processing, supporter servicing and administrative support across the whole of the Finance. The post holder will be expected to carry out functions across the whole range of tasks required with appropriate training and support being provided to enable this.  Work could include supporter contact and donation handing, cross checking the financial data in grant contracts, coding income and reconciliation towards month end deadlines and expenditure processing alongside routine administrative tasks such as responding to queries via email.  A high degree of care and accuracy is required to ensure the basic administrative needs of the Division are effectively managed.

About you
You will have a background in providing excellent customer/supporter care, and preferably experience in financial processing or cash handling alongside experience of working to tight deadlines. 
You will also have considerable experience using a customer or supporter database system.   
You show initiative when faced with problems and proactively seek solutions but also seek clarification and support from your manager when needed. 
You respond promptly to the requests of others, handling competing priorities and seeking guidance on these where appropriate.  
You proactively participate in team work and contribute ideas.

Require knowledge and expertise
Essential
· Educated to GCSE A level standard or equivalent.
· Highly numerate.
· Accurate data entry skills and be able to manage own workload with support as required.
· Able to exercise a sense of urgency and able to work under pressure.
· Relevant experience of working with a customer or supporter database system or with a standard accounting package.
· Good communication skills.
· Willingness and freedom to flexible across all areas of work in the Division.

Desirable
· A basic understanding of the Gift Aid scheme.
· A basic knowledge of world geography.
· Familiarity with basic issues of data protection and financial controls
