We have an exciting opportunity to join a high-profile London Market Insurance Firm who are recruiting a Learning and Development Manager to join their Talent team. You will be working within a vibrant and collaborative team based in the City of London!
As the L&D Manager you will manage and develop the talent & development function, designing talent and organisational development strategies that support the business and are aligned with organisational goals. This role includes responsibility for: • Providing expertise on Talent and Performance Management Processes, including Talent Reviews, Succession Planning and Performance Reviews. Ensure best practice is implemented and be proactively involved in new methodology and market trends • Negotiating and liaise with internal experts and external training providers to design and deliver comprehensive core in-house L&D programmes and team events • Identifying learning requirements and providing solutions that align with organisational and HR strategy.
JOB DESCRIPTION
In conjunction with HR Business Partners, manage the Talent Review and Succession Planning process in order to capture talent supply and succession data. Collate data and work with the Head of HR to produce insights which seek to drive a culture of retaining, engaging and developing existing talent
Using succession planning data to design and deliver leadership and high potential development programmes which align the companies Talent Strategy with organisation goals
Oversight of management and leadership programmes, liaising with third party providers where appropriate to design modules and ensuring programmes are communicated and delivered effectively
Manage and develop the T&D Co-ordinator and ensure the provision of high quality administrative, communication and reporting tasks
Acting as the point of contact for T&D on projects and user groups as required
Carrying out psychometric assessments and team building events
Monitoring training budget
Seeking to foster a “Good Company” culture by incorporating this corporate vision into T&D initiatives and interventions
Demonstrating regular and effective collaboration across all areas of HR Operations. Work in partnership with the Resourcing, Benefits and Operations Managers to ensure all processes and procedures operate efficiently and are managed consistently
Work effectively with colleagues in compliance and risk to help develop regulatory training
Working with the Head of HR to develop and drive the T&D strategy
Working with the Head of HR on ad hoc HR projects as appropriate
Champion the company values and work in accordance with the organisational behaviours
Be aware of and comply with the relevant rules and regulations in relation to financial crime & Conduct
Managing the Graduate Programme, including planning and oversight of rotations and design of training modules
Provide line management to the graduates whilst on the Graduate Programme
Taking a leading role in other development programmes which support the development of emerging talent i.e. apprenticeships, internships

To be successful in this role you will have a background in Learning and Development within Insurance or Professional services. You will have the ability to build and develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will have worked on projects with clear deadlines and the ability to confidently shape ideas and concepts into meaningful outcomes. Ideally you will have coaching experience although this does not need to be to exec level and hold a degree or equivalent HR qualification. It would be desirable to have experience working with graduate programmes and apprenticeships.
