A fantastic opportunity to support the business development activities that help win work within a designated part of a global design business. This includes helping to raise standards of client relationship management and bidding across the service group, while delivering more intensive support for priority clients and services such as: relationship building with individual clients; client mapping; opportunity development and tracking; supporting sales meetings; pre-qualifications, bids and tenders; client feedback, analysis and research.
The role will be directed day-to-day by the UK Marketing and Business Development Team Leader and will work in a mutually supportive and integrated way with the wider team. The role will also draw on the specialist support and resources provided by the UKIMEA Regional Business Development Team and work together with this and other Business Development and Marketing teams team, as required, on specific opportunities – to share best practice and maximise opportunities.
The role:
Taking the lead as a specialist advisor for a service group and helping to develop the capacity to win work across the group, through:
• Improving the quality and efficiency of bidding using training and shared systems and resources
• Promoting and supporting the effective use of CRM as well as reporting on group/team performance
• Supporting efforts to help all staff become more client-facing
• Drawing on the UKIMEA Business Development resource as required
• Providing advice on winning work to senior leaders, with the support of the Team Leader and UKIMEA Business Development team
Leading on providing business development support for a portfolio of priority clients, bids and projects, including:
• Using and encouraging the use of CRM to manage this portfolio
• Helping analyse and identify client needs
• Co-ordinating content and information gathering for:
o Sales/listening meetings, including targeted client research
o Prequalification (PQ), PQ Questionnaire and Expressions of Interest
o Bids and tender responses
o Bid/No-bid and Bid launch events
o Client relationship building
o Competitive interview/pitch presentations
• Gathering, distilling and disseminating lessons from bids and projects for future use
• Supporting senior Business Development colleagues in undertaking client feedback interviews and mapping out key clients
• Assisting a senior BD colleague in client Portal management for specific bids and supporting registrations and opportunity distribution for the Group
• Working closely with the UKIMEA Business Development team and the Consulting UK Marketing and Business Development team
Ideally 3/5 year experience within bidding and business development preferably within professional services, construction or design. Basic understanding of, or willingness to learn Adobe InDesign, Visio and Microsoft Dynamics CRM software would be advantageous.
