A Leading firm based in the heart of the legal district have an exciting opportunity for a float Legal Secretary to join their team on a contract basis.


Start date: ASAP

Practise area: FAMILY

You will be providing effective support services to the directors and fee-earners of the firm, as well as assisting other member of the support team.


  • Type work as dictated or requested by any director or fee-earner and prepare it as appropriate
  • Assist in the personal organisation of directors and fee-earners through the operation of a diary management system, including bring forward system, filing of papers etc.
  • Organisation of client and administrative files as appropriate.
  • Provide cover as necessary for reception/switchboard, and answer overflow calls on switchboard.
  • Undertake all work necessary under the direction of the relevant director/fee earner in respect of billing clients and meeting disbursements.
  • Assist in communications with clients through relaying telephone messages both incoming and outgoing, sending and retrieval of faxes and e-mails and providing any assistance which is possible.
  • Ensure the positive representation of the company in all dealings with clients and others, to include where necessary ensuring refreshments are available for client meetings.
  • Prepare/undertake fee earning/administrative work under supervision of director and/or fee-earner.
  • Any other secretarial or administrative duties as reasonably required.
