A prestigious healthcare organisation has an opening for an administrator on their education courses, starting immediately as a temporary worker, with the view to going permanent.

Overall Purpose of Job

  • To administrate the student journey, from enrolment to graduation in all student and course administration requirements.
  • To support the Administration Coordinator to deliver a first-class courses administration function.
  • To maintain accurate and up to date student records including information on student status, grades, performance and progress.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities

  • provide administrative support to a team of lecturers, tutors or teachers
  • manage the student life cycle from registration/admission to graduation/leaving
  • work with academic boards, governing bodies and task groups
  • assist with recruitment, public or alumni relations and marketing activities
  • draft and interpret regulations
  • deal with queries and complaints procedures
  • coordinate examination and assessment processes
  • maintain high levels of quality assurance, including course evaluation and course approval procedures
  • use information systems and prepare reports and statistics for both internal and external use
  • participate in the development of future information systems
  • contribute to policy and planning
  • manage budgets and ensure financial systems are followed
  • purchase goods and equipment, and process invoices
  • supervise other administrative staff
  • communicate with partner institutions, other institutions, external agencies, government departments and prospective students
  • organise and facilitate a variety of educational or social activities.
  • To provide reception cover when required to ensure the front desk is always covered from 9am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday and outside these times when the needs of the service require it.

This is a fast-paced role suited to an experienced administrator. You will thrive at the opportunity to help coordinate the academic admin function, ensuring the academics and students have the support required to deliver and learn courses. You will be a vital link in communicating with colleagues and students, on the phone and via email, and will work to ensure our remote workers are well looked after and engaged in the organisation.

We would like to hear from you if you can demonstrate:

  • Excellent organisation and administration coordination skills.
  • Extensive experience of using and developing spreadsheets.
  • Experience designing and maintaining processes and procedures.
  • Experience of liaising between departments and client groups.
  • Experience of working successfully to deadlines and with conflicting priorities.
  • An ability to develop positive working relationships with a wide range of people and work effectively as a team.

You will need to have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and database. Experience in an educational setting would be an advantage but is not essential.
