Job Title: Legal Cashier
Location: Central London
Salary: £40,000 + Excellent Benefits
Major American law firm are looking for an experienced legal cashier to support the Finance Manager with a broad range of processes related to the billing, accounting and banking functions of the London office. A selection of responsibilities include:
- Accounts receivable / payable and cashiering
- Ensuring bills are processed in a timely manner and in accordance with SRA and HMRC legislation
- Producing pre-bills for London and some international offices
- Responding promptly to all billing related queries and, when required, meet with partners to discuss billing
- Reconciliation reports
- Preparing daily banking and all associated paperwork
- Ensuring that bills are raised to entities for which you have appropriate Client Due Diligence
- Following up with Partners/Secretaries as to whether invoices have been sent to the client
- Chasing partners/fee earners regarding WIP
- Production and accurate submission of invoices that are e-Billed
This role is ideal if you are keen to learn about billing; you do not need previous billing experience as you will be trained when you join. It is essential that you have at least 2 years’ experience as a legal cashier from another international firm and excellent numerical skills. There will be a lot of interaction and liaison with international offices and so excellent communication skills are also a must as well as a working knowledge of Solicitor’s Accounts Rules and VAT compliance.
