Travel & Events Operations Manager

My client is a leading Media brand based in trendy offices in the West End. They are looking for a Travel & Events Operations Manager who has gained experience within the travel or media sector, has experience of managing a small team and has excellent commercial acumen, to manage the Travel team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing company who have clear paths of progression and excellent benefits including flexi time.

The Role
• Identification of partnerships and capacities required to fulfil events briefs.
• Recommendation and planning of effective sales and marketing initiatives to optimise inventory utilisation working with Marketing Manager to execute.
• Develop relationships with key stakeholders
• Prepare and implement both a short and long-term action plan, where relevant, to manage and optimise profitability across Travel & Event capacities taking into consideration agreed client objectives.
• Ongoing and accurate fiscal reporting and tracking for the Travel & Events department including capacities against both booked and forecast activity.
• Oversee and ensure accurate data inputting from Travel & Event team members with a focus on timely responses to finance invoice queries and minimising query impact.
• Manage team members on specific projects or briefs related to events 
• Ongoing coaching and training of the Travel & Events team, providing mentoring support to guide them through new capacities and wider company updates.


The Person
• A self-starter with ambition.
• Proven experience in the Travel industry with experience of Accreditation's and Systems.
• Comfortable in an environment committed to transformation and ability to adapt to the market.
• Experience of managing junior team members.
• Driven to achieve individual and group targets, goals and deadlines.
• Personally, driven and able to use initiative to work effectively in a fast-paced environment to fulfilling internal and external directives.
• Able to lead effectively with some management experience.
• Communicate effectively and clearly.
• Competent with Microsoft applications, with specific skill and understanding of Excel.
