A prestigious US Law Firm is looking to hire a new Accounts Payable Assistant to be responsible for Accounts Payable, Professional Disbursements and Expenses whilst performing a variety of duties to support the overall accounting function.  Responsibilities will include ensuring all invoices have been coded and authorised in line with the Firms’ expense policy, manage and process employee expense claims, invoices and employee expenses are accurately entered onto the accounting system on a daily basis with the correct coding and narrative relevant to that expenditure, all supplier statements are fully reconciled against the purchase ledger on a monthly basis, any reconciling items should be followed up with appropriate party immediately, dealing with queries from suppliers including replying to chasing letters and phone calls, reconciliation of the London office credit card from the monthly statement, ensuring all expenditure is coded and authorised, upkeep of the London office accounts filing to include regular archiving of redundant files, maintaining the Vendor master files in Elite, maintaining account details for suppliers and expenses on the online banking system, handing out petty cash in GBP, USD and EUR in accordance with the Firms’ expense policy, assisting with the reconciliation of Counsel Fee notes and obtaining Tax receipts once paid, assisting with any general accounts duties. Candidates must have a minimum of two years Accounts Payable experience within a Law Firm of Professional Services organisation, strong numerical skills, knowledge of both VAT and SRA Accounts rules and strong Microsoft Office skills.
