Our Client is the pioneer of the one-to-one, pre-scheduled business forums which match delegates and suppliers to generate new business, engage with peers and make new connections. Each of their forums address strategic issues in a professional environment through our bespoke conference programmes.
Main purpose of the position:
- Responsible for inviting and securing mutually agreed delegate targets.
Main responsibilities and duties of the position:
- Maintaining a database of between 3000 – 5000 records
- Sourcing new companies through LinkedIn, industry press/organisations/associations, word of mouth, telephone research and bought-in databases.
- Identifying correct individual by seniority, budget and responsibility
- Coding and categorising database depending on quality
- Managing the invitation process – batching & sending invites and tracking
- Use of Lyris, email marketing system to contact delegates
- Telesales –
- Pre-calling - contacting each delegate prior to sending out an invitation, focusing the delegate on receiving the invitation and selling where possible
- Post-calling - contacting each delegate after they have been sent an invitation, this is an on-going process throughout the year and requires 'selling' the benefits of attending the events over the telephone
- Knowledge gathering and understanding your industry through reading press and talking to delegates
- Identifying the needs & objectives of the delegates and matching the benefits of the event to their needs
- Occasional attendance at industry functions e.g. conferences, dinners, awards etc
- Work closely with Sales Managers to supply an audience with whom suppliers would like to meet
- Identifying issues to feed into conference programme – liaising with Conference Manager
- Customer care and retention– ensuring all confirmed delegates are kept informed and enthusiastic about their attendance. Solving any problems a delegate may have
- Explaining and guiding delegates through the selection process
- Managing cancellations and replacements
- Understanding the appointment system
